EspaƱol!

As Ms. Bossert said, yesterday was our first "crash-course" Spanish lesson! Some of us understood, and others (like me) had no idea what Mrs. Kovarik was saying (haha). We started to write our first letters to our new Costa Rica pen-pals! We are a close group of students so those who are good at Spanish help those of us who are not so great! Here are some pictures from today while we were finishing up our letters.

GO!

Our first week of class has been a learning experience for me -- we're starting with an exploration of biodiversity with Mr. Dubas. It is a totally different feel to read an article about a rainforest knowing that, in a few short weeks, we will BE IN a rainforest checking this stuff out live! Ms. Kovarik came in yesterday for the first of 9 'Survival Spanish' lessons...it really makes a difference when you know you will NEED these new vocabulary words in a few short weeks. I had no idea how funny Ms. Kovarik is when she teaches...it was really neat to see. And I've never seen students pay so much attention!
