On your mark, get set....

GO!

Our first week of class has been a learning experience for me -- we're starting with an exploration of biodiversity with Mr. Dubas. It is a totally different feel to read an article about a rainforest knowing that, in a few short weeks, we will BE IN a rainforest checking this stuff out live! Ms. Kovarik came in yesterday for the first of 9 'Survival Spanish' lessons...it really makes a difference when you know you will NEED these new vocabulary words in a few short weeks. I had no idea how funny Ms. Kovarik is when she teaches...it was really neat to see. And I've never seen students pay so much attention!

I think it will be interesting to meet our penpals. I'm kind of nervous but I cant wait to go. I wonder what they think about America and Americans in general. Um...Also, I think that it's really selfless of Kovarik to give her time to help others get started in Spanish. I'm ready to go and just explore in the jungle; I want to see all of the biodiversity- ohh nice use of the word ;)
